Robe Town Brewery
Robe, South Australia.
1869 Red Ale ABV 7.5% 330ml Bottle
This special dry-hopped double amber is brewed in honour of George Lord Snr, proprietor of the original Robe Town Brewery, established back in 1869.
It is a hearty red ale with big body, malty sweetness and balanced hoppy finish.
Lord was a Brewer, Blacksmith and Publican at the old Frankfurt hotel, later known as the Criterion where many a traveller, trader or bullock team driver stopped in search of hearty ales like this one. Similar to many British export ales supplied across the colonies at the time.
